The Lake House: Kitchen Reveal
If you’ve been following along with our Lake House remodel—first of all, THANK YOU. We’re beyond excited to finally start sharing more of this dreamy project with you! Nestled in the woods near Lake Texoma, this old midcentury modern gem has undergone a full transformation. What started as a dated retreat is now becoming the cozy cottage escape we always envisioned—perfect for making family memories and hosting inspiring team retreats.
This week, we're giving you the grand tour of one of our favorite spaces: the kitchen.
Before:
Small but Mighty
Let’s be honest—designing a small kitchen is like playing Tetris on expert mode. Every inch matters. But with the right materials, thoughtful planning, and a touch of style magic, we turned this compact corner of the lake house into a functional, stunning space that punches way above its square footage.
Our goal? Marry modern functionality with warm, cottage-core vibes… without sacrificing either. And thanks to some incredible brand partnerships, this kitchen does exactly that.
Details That Made All the Difference
Nostalgic Hardware helped us bring in that vintage flair in the best way possible. Their cabinet pulls and outlet plates are truly the jewelry of the kitchen. You know how a good pair of earrings can elevate an outfit? Same energy. Every knob and plate adds a polished, designer feel that’s both timeless and totally unique.
We’re also head-over-heels for the gorgeous sink faucet from Moen. It’s sleek, sturdy, and stylish—the triple threat of kitchen plumbing. Washing dishes might not be glamorous, but doing it with this faucet definitely makes it feel fancier.
When it came to countertops, we turned to Ann Sacks. Their quality and craftsmanship speak for themselves, and the surface we chose adds the perfect balance of texture and tone against our natural palette. The beautiful countertops are Calacatta Viola. Calacatta Viola is a natural stone that is quarried in Italy, specifically the Carrara region, and is known for its distinct purple and white veining. One thing I love that gives these countertops so much drama is the burgundy and violet color popping out, it makes the whole kitchen interesting and bold!
Lighting is always one of the most underestimated elements in a kitchen, but not here. Maxim Lighting helped us create the cozy, glowy atmosphere we were craving. Whether it’s morning pancakes or late-night snacks, the light in this space is always just right.
And last but not least, we laid down brand new Lucida Surfaces floors—and they absolutely changed the game. They’re warm, durable, and give the whole kitchen a grounded, welcoming feel. It’s the kind of floor you want to kick off your shoes and dance on (and we definitely have).
A Cozy Kitchen Escape
This kitchen may be small in size, but it’s overflowing with heart. We designed it to feel like a warm hug—a little haven away from the world. Whether we’re whipping up pancakes on a Saturday morning or gathering the team around for charcuterie, it’s already becoming the soul of the Lake House.
And guess what? We’re just getting started.
