The Laurel Grove Project: Living Room Reveal
We’re so excited to finally introduce the Laurel Grove Project, a beautiful new build designed for a large family who wanted a home that feels timeless, warm, and effortlessly livable.
With generous square footage and thoughtful architectural details throughout, this project was all about leaning into neutral tones, classic elements, and elevated finishes—creating spaces that feel both grand and welcoming. Today, we’re starting where the heart of the home often lives: the living room.
A Grand Space That Still Feels Cozy
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in a large-scale new build is creating rooms that don’t feel cold or overwhelming. In the Laurel Grove living room, our goal was to embrace the scale while ensuring the space still feels cozy, inviting, and grounded.
Soft neutrals set the foundation, allowing the architectural details to shine without overpowering the room. Layered textures, warm finishes, and intentional styling help bring balance to the volume of the space, making it a place where the family can truly relax and gather.
Built-Ins & An Oversized Fireplace
The custom built-ins are a standout feature in this living room. Not only do they provide functional storage and display space, but they also frame the oversized fireplace, which serves as a strong focal point.
The fireplace anchors the room visually, adding warmth and structure, while the built-ins help the space feel polished and complete. Together, they bring a sense of symmetry and timelessness that complements the home’s classic design direction.
Ceiling Beams & Vertical Shiplap Details
If there’s one element that truly steals the show, it’s the exposed ceiling beams. These beams add character, warmth, and architectural interest, drawing the eye upward and emphasizing the room’s impressive ceiling height.
Paired with vertical shiplap accents, the space gains texture and subtle contrast without straying from the neutral palette. The vertical lines enhance the room’s height, while the shiplap introduces a classic detail that feels both fresh and familiar.
A Timeless Beginning
The Laurel Grove living room perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the home: classic, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for real life. It’s a space that feels grand yet grounded—ideal for both everyday moments and special gatherings.
We can’t wait to share more from this project as we continue room by room. Stay tuned for more design details and favorite moments from the Laurel Grove Project.
