The Edit | October: The Art of Connection

Some seasons remind us just how much creativity begins with connection. A conversation that stays with you. A discovery shared with your team. A place that makes you see color, texture, and home a little differently. This month, that thread has woven through so much of life at House Sprucing. From France to Dallas Design Week, a meaningful moment with Joanna Gaines to the spaces we're preparing to share, we're bringing you a little of what has been inspiring us lately.

From France, with inspiration

France gave me so much to take in. The exteriors, the interiors, the color palettes, and the details that have stood the test of centuries reminded me why timeless design continues to draw us in. I came home inspired by the way those spaces feel layered and enduring, with so much beauty to discover when you slow down and look closely. It's the kind of inspiration that stays with you long after you unpack. There was a little creating happening along the way, too. We spent some time sketching and finding color palettes at Versailles for something exciting coming in spring 2027! We're keeping the details tucked away for now, but we can't wait to share this launch with you. It will be worth the wait.

A moment with Joanna Gaines

I've admired Joanna for years, but until recently, I hadn't had the opportunity to connect with her personally. In a small-group setting with other design industry leaders, I had the chance to ask her a few questions and receive advice that felt both thoughtful and grounding. As a mother, creative, entrepreneur, and connector of people, she embodies so many qualities I admire. It was lovely to connect with such a centered woman.

One piece of advice has stayed with me: celebrate the everyday wins, not only the big ones. Sometimes that means pausing over a meaningful text message. Sometimes it means recognizing a small step forward or taking a moment to celebrate a milestone before moving on to the next thing. I loved the reminder to be present enough to notice those moments and give them their place.

Discovering together at Dallas Design Week

One of my favorite parts of Dallas Design Week was experiencing it with our team. There's something special about seeing what catches each person's eye and sharing that inspiration with one another.A meeting with our lighting vendor gave us time to ask questions, learn more, and continue building the knowledge we bring to our clients. Continuing education is such an important part of our work. And there was plenty to inspire us. A console with a beautiful landscape grasscloth appliqué stopped us in one of our favorite showrooms. We discovered handmade coffee tables from Mexico that we're beginning to source, along with sculptural sectionals designed to be beautiful from every angle. Mixed patterns, materials, and colorways gave us even more to talk about.

These discoveries are part of what we love bringing to our projects: thoughtful options, unexpected details, and pieces that make a room feel special

A first glimpse: The Lakeview Project

We're also getting ready to share a beautiful lake house in the DFW area, designed for an incredible family. The Lakeview Project is filled with layered, detailed spaces, each with its own dynamic character. For now, we're sharing just a glimpse. We can't wait to invite you further inside and show you more of this home.

A little fall magic at home

At home, I'm meeting my family right where we are and leaning into the fun of this stage with elementary school-aged kids. My Mind's Eye's Halloween decorations are bringing a little magic to our dining room and shelves, mixed with natural elements and House Sprucing touches. Still our aesthetic, just with a little more childhood wonder.

Let's create a home that feels like you

All of these moments come back to connection, including the connection we want you to feel with your own home. Whether you're furnishing a room, adding thoughtful layers, or envisioning a larger transformation, our incredible House Sprucing design team is here to help. We'd love to hear what you're dreaming about and explore how we can bring it to life together.

Wherever you are in the process, we're here to help.

With love,
