The Lake House Reveal: A Primary Bedroom

Welcome back to The Lake House! We’ve taken you through the kitchen, the bunk room, the back patio—and now it’s time to step into the primary bedroom.

When we first dreamed up this space, our vision was clear: we wanted it to feel like a hidden retreat tucked in the trees. Cozy, calm, and just moody enough to feel like you’ve escaped the world (in the best way possible). So we went bold—in a grounded, nature-loving way—and chose a soothing deep green for the walls.

Because let’s be honest—if your home is nestled in the woods near Lake Texoma, why not lean into the treehouse energy?

The Power of  Dark, Cozy Walls

Dark green might not be everyone’s first pick for a bedroom, but we’re here to say: go for it. The right shade adds depth, warmth, and that tucked-in feeling you just can’t get with an all-white palette.

This hue created a cocoon-like vibe that instantly made the room feel restful. And by pairing it with soft, earthy neutrals? Total balance. One of our favorite trends in design right now is color drenching, so we know that we wanted to lean into that for this space. We picked Wellington Green by Magnolia Home in this space.

Layering in Texture + Comfort

To keep the space feeling serene and elevated, we layered in rich textures and light, calming tones with help from some incredible partners:

Bedsure provided the soft, dreamy bedding—think lightweight, breathable layers that still feel luxe.

Ginger Sparrow brought in beautiful pillows that added a touch of artisanal style and texture to the bed.

Curtarra helped us keep things light (literally) with custom window treatments that add privacy without blocking the view. Because waking up to trees? Always the goal.

And let’s not forget about the furniture and lighting:

The bed frame from Union Home is a minimalist masterpiece—artistic lines, natural finishes, and subtle sophistication that doesn’t compete with the wall color.

Flow Decor’s bedside lamps add soft, ambient light with a sculptural feel we love.

And the cherry on top? Maxim Lighting delivered a light fixture that brings the entire room together—functional, yes, but also a total showpiece.

The End Result? Calm, Cozy, and Completely Custom

This room is more than just a place to sleep. It’s a space that reflects everything we love about this home: cozy comfort, natural beauty, and thoughtful design. It feels like a little boutique getaway—and you don’t even have to leave your own house.
