The Lake House Reveal: Primary Bathroom

We’re back with another reveal from The Lake House project, and this one proves that big style can live in small spaces. The primary bathroom might not have the largest footprint in the house, but thanks to thoughtful design (and a few stunning product partners), it’s now one of the most dramatic transformations in the whole home.

Let’s just say—size doesn’t matter when the tile is this good.

Making the Most of Every Inch

This bathroom needed to work hard for our family: storage, daily function, and a high-end feel—all in a compact layout. So we got strategic.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by rich green tile from Ann Sacks that is a collab with Studio McGee and instantly brings the outdoors in (we’re in the trees, after all!). This moody hue adds just the right amount of drama while keeping the space grounded and serene.

To visually open things up, we installed an Aston Bath shower door with a striking black frame. It’s modern, bold, and creates a visual boundary without making the space feel closed off. Paired with black and gold accents throughout, the whole room feels elevated and intentional.

Details That Do the Heavy Lifting

Here’s the secret to making a small bathroom feel designer: the details.

  • Moen fixtures and a towel rack brought style and function with sleek, modern lines.

  • We lit up the space—literally—with Maxim Lighting. The fixtures are clean and elegant, adding that “just enough” glow for everyday luxury.

  • Kohler’s mirror adds polish and reflects light in all the right ways, helping the room feel bigger and brighter.

When we say “the little things make the biggest difference,” this bathroom is Exhibit A.

Small but Mighty

This space might not be the largest in the house, but it feels luxurious, thanks to smart material choices and intentional finishes. It’s proof that a bathroom doesn’t need to be massive to be a retreat—it just needs the right tile, the right fixtures, and a bold vision.
