The Lake House Reveal: The Dining Nook
We’re continuing our Lake House blog series with a space that proves even the smallest corners of a home deserve major style. Let’s talk about the Dining Nook—a cozy, charming spot that’s now bursting with character, thanks to a few key design choices (and some amazing brand partners).
This space might be compact, but it’s definitely not quiet.
Making a Bold Statement in a Small Space
Since this nook is open to the kitchen and living area, we knew we wanted to give it its own identity—something that set it apart but still tied in with the rest of the home. The answer? A bold, moody statement wallpaper from Rebel Walls.
It’s rich. It’s artistic. It’s the kind of wallpaper that makes people stop mid-sentence to say, “Wait—where is that from?!”
It defines the dining nook beautifully and turns it from an afterthought into a total moment.
Cozy Details That Elevate the Everyday
To balance the drama of the wallpaper, we layered in soft, neutral accents that made the space feel inviting and warm:
Ginger Sparrow provided the perfect pillows—adding color, texture, and just the right pop of personality to our built-in bench seating.
And the finishing touch? Flow Decor’s decorative accessories, which brought in a mix of organic shapes and refined materials for a curated, designer look.
And this furniture and rugs? You can shop the look at our online HS Store, and recreate the look at your home!
Now it’s the kind of spot that’s perfect for morning pancakes, weekday Zoom calls, or lingering with friends long after the plates are cleared.
A Reminder: Small Spaces Deserve Big Style
Dining nooks often get overlooked—but this project proves just how impactful they can be with a little intention and a lot of personality. By leaning into bold design and thoughtful details, we turned a pass-through into a statement.
